After the club meet the week before, many of us stayed or returned to Beccles and enjoyed fine weather for the Carnival Weekend.

The yacht station was full by Saturday morning with the arrival of The Wooden Boat Association and The Seamaster Club. We had ten club boats there including two in with the Seamasters.

We ‘set up camp’ on the green in the afternoon and sat chatting over a few drinks. We continued in the evening with a BBQ and party, a sort of

al-fresco dinner and dance to celebrate Sandras’ birthday. Peter provided an excellent sangria/punch ( which seemed to get more potent as the evening went on) and Dee brought out a lovely birthday cake. Candles were lit and the music and dancing continued until gone 11pm. Thank you to everyone who helped make Sandras’ birthday very special.

Carnival day on Sunday saw the return of our Hippy Girls who at one point had a run in with the Law, following rumours that Barbara was selling ‘grass’, this turned out be  - well, grass actually! We all watched the Carnival procession in the afternoon before wandering around the fair and carnival site.

A most enjoyable weekend.
