A very pleasant club meet at Pyes Mill with eleven boats and six cars over the weekend.

 

Friday

We arrived about 3pm on Friday with heavy rain all the way. The rain stopped soon after we arrived and the sun came out. Six boats already there and Pip and Colin arrived soon after us. The ladies went on ‘Mr C’ to chat about the Bramerton meet over a glass or two. We put one of the new gazebos up, quite heavy but went up easily enough. Dee had come with us on our boat and Tim came by car after work to take her home after dinner on our boat.

 

Saturday

Hazy sunshine start to the day and sunny, cloudy for rest of day. Three more boats arrived during the day. We put the second new gazebo up without any problems. Some members walked into town the rest of us sat out enjoying the sunshine.

We fired up the BBQ’s about 5pm and were joined by Richard and Jan, John and Fay, Colin and Chris who all came in their cars. Good to see Ray and Keith who also came in their cars. We all sat out in the late sunshine and Pip played some tunes on her squeeze box. Twenty five of us piled into the gazebos about 8.30pm and spent the rest of the evening chatting and drinking.

 

Sunday

Another hazy sunshine start to the day. We took the gazebos down and members started to get away. We sat in the warm sunshine until about 2pm then made our way home.
